The scanned image is out of focus

This may be caused by extremely curled film. The scanned image will be blurred, even if the film is slightly curled.

Also, if the film scanner is set to the auto-focus mode when scanning, the scanned image may be out of focus.

When scanning the image in the auto-focus mode, make several trials to verify it is in focus. If the desirable result is not obtained with the auto-focus mode, try the manual focus mode.

When scanning images of people and animals, focusing on their eyes will produce a sharp focus.
